France's Journey to Swimming the English Channel
I have booked a slot with Alison Streeter (Queen of the Channel) on Roco between 26th August and 3rd September.

My attempt at the channel in 2007 was a great learning opportunity and provided me with some valuable feedback that will shape the way I train for my 2nd attempt. This time we're going all the way!!
This page will track my progress to the next attempt.
Relay Race
As a warm up to the solo attempt, I'm arranging a channel relay race. 2 teams will set out together from Dover and race to see who will be the first team to hit France. The teams will consist of swimmers of varying speeds and ability and I'll attempt to create teams that are very similar on paper to make it a really exciting race.
I've had quite a bit of interest from people wanting to be part of the team. This year a qualifying swim has been added to the requirements. Each person must complete a 2 hour swim in water that is 16C or less. I've suggested that everyone does the qualifier this year so that they know what they're letting themselves into before they have to pay for their share of the relay.
Final names will be confirmed nearer the time.
The relay race will take place on the tide between 13th - 18th August. We have Neil Streeter's and Alison Streeter's boats booked - how appropriate - brother & sister pilots racing two teams!!
